My mom taught me how to play Backgammon when I was about 11. I taught my friend Kamala, who my Kamala is named after, and we played quite often the almost 3 years I lived across the street from her in California. When I married John, I taught him how to play too. However, he stopped wanting to play with me since I…ummm…beat him every. single. time. He’d play every once in awhile, like maybe once a year, but it would usually only last for one—or in rare instances, two—games. Because I’d beat him.
A couple of Sundays ago, I caught him in a weak moment, and he agreed to play with me. HE. BEAT. ME.!!!!! I was dumbfounded and immediately asked for a rematch. He said, “NO WAY!” And it bugged me all week.
This past Sunday I asked him to play again, and he said, “Okay.” #rookiemistake
I beat him two times in a row. Pretty badly, I must add. ?
And now he won’t play with me anymore.
Maybe I’ll try again this Sunday…
2016 Backgammon Scoreboard:
Susan: 2
John: 1
And in other news…we had a doozy of a storm come through last night! Here’s our damage, but I saw several huge trees down in our neighborhood when I went running this morning. Ours could’ve been much worse, and we’ll only need to replace a few pickets in our fence. Awww…Mother Nature.
And…I’ve been so excited to try these out! I’ve always loved the Oreo cookie part. The creme filling? Not so much. These are awesome! Just enough creme filling for some taste, but it leaves the yummy chocolate cookie front and center. And I got the chocolate AND original because…you gotta’ try them both, right?! 😉
I’ve only tried the chocolate so far, but the day is still young. Way to go, Nabisco!
